"Seeing Hands" is the fifth drawing from my "5 Easy Pieces" assignment. Lots of other artists have drawn faces similar to this one - but I wanted to see if I could too. I love how unnerving this image is when you realize what you are actually looking at. This drawing will be posted on eBay in a few days - just search on "jgg" to see the art I have for sale.

"Mother Goose" is the third drawing in my "5 Easy Pieces" assignment. This one is titled "Mother Goose Rides the Raven". Naturally everyone expets Mother Goose to be riding a goose - I just gave her another option. You can also view this drawing on eBay in two days, just search "jgg" in the art category.

I'm taking a studio class designed to help me find my own creative voice. This week I had to do "5 Easy Pieces" - to paint everyday, something small, just to get in the habit of doing something everyday. I decided to draw with pen and ink.
I like my subject matter to be unusual, so I chose subjects that were just a little askew, where the viewer would have to take a second look to see. This first drawing is called "Bird Cage Man". You can see it on eBay. Just search "JGG" in the ART category.

I've created another Cubist Floral, I've titled this one "Primary Blooms". It is done in the
ATC - Artist Trading Card - format - 2.5 x 3.5" and has een painted with Prismacolor pencils. Currently this ATC is listed on eBay, just search "JGG" in the art category.
I like these two cubist florals enough that I think I will go to canvas with them.

I have been experimenting with Cubist painting.
This one is a sunflower in a blue vase. I have fractured the image, bringing some of it closer, and playing up the lights and darks. This is done in the ATC - Artist Trading Card - format, 2.5" x 3.5". The medium is prismacolor pencils. I have been using this format to do Cubist studies before I go to the canvas.
My ATCs can be purcased on eBay. Under the Art category, search on "JGG" - all my auctions have my initials in the title. I have a goal for 2008 to produce 100 ATCs for the eBay auction. Check them out during the year and thanks for looking!

I've collected all my notes on Design, Composition, and Collage - and put them in a handmade book. I used 140lb watercolor paper and bound it with wire and beads. Interspersed with all my copious notes are collages demonstrating the notes and instructions. As you can see I've given it the title "IT"S ALL ABOUT THE COMPOSITON."

Welcome to my daily ART Blog Journal. A place of accountability and pesonal challenge to "create" on a daily basis. "CREATE" meaning to paint, draw, collage, journal, or anything that supports my creative journey.
The challenge in this art journl is to be productive enough to add something creative everyday - theoretically - or - realistically - as close to daily as possible. Since I do work outside the studio full time, the 40 corporate hours come first. Then the home reponsibilities claim more time, luckily Martha Stewart I am not. I need the weekends to round up the dust bunnies and spend time with my family. So I'm lucky to have an hour or two a day for studio time.
Thank you for stopping by and checking out my blog. If you are interested in any of my works, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. You can make a purchase via Paypal, personal check, or money order. Many of my smaller works are for sale on eBay - just search "jgg" in the Art Category - jgg is in all my titles.
