Last man, or reindeer standing.
The Xmas tree is boxed away for another year.
But not the reindeer.
I've grown quite fond of his sparkly beaded legs
and the glitter left on my fingers every time I move him.
I've decide to keep him unboxed.
 Add him to my collection.
The lamb and the wolf, and now the reindeer.
An electic collection of characters that just might
make it into my painting.
If nothing else, they are fun to draw.

Christmas is finally over at my house.
I know what you're thinking -
Christmas, it's nearly Valentine's Day?
I don't care what you think.
My favorite complimentary colors -
 RED & GREEN are gone.
The sparkling lights, the glitter and shine.
My ornaments, collected over many many years.
Vintage, as am I
Everything boxed up except for the tree
and one last tree hugger.
Tomorrow - I'll finish tomorrow.

What to do with the little lamb?
Something unexpected.
Something not too sweet but almost.
How about this pair of Cross Dressers?

Find a willing subject to draw.
Get out my trusty ball point pen.
Open my dusty sketchbook and draw.
DRAW
draw
Draw
DRAW
I love this little lamb.
He nearly draws himself.
This is not work at all.
This is what I was born to do
- what I love to do -
why is it so hard for me to get here!

Seventeen days into the New Year.
Time to get back to work.
It's been too long.
I don't know why I procrastinate on this .
I love being an artist.
I love the work involved.
Why is it I don't make time for art
but
I do find time
to build roadblocks?

January 4, 2013

1st Friday
Market View Arts
York, PA

I apologize for not following up with all my fun & fabulous pictures from Friday night. But - there seems to be a glitch in Blogspot and I can no longer upload my pictures like I used to. I've tried their suggestions - but to no avail. If it's not fixed soon, I'll have to load my pics on another URL and download from there.

That's an added step I would like to avoid. So, I'll give them a little time, hoping for a favorable fix!

the dreaded Resolutions

Top 10 Broken New Years Resolutions:

  1. Lose Weight and Get Fit
  2. Quit Smoking
  3. Learn Something New
  4. Eat Healthier and Diet
  5. Get out of Debt and Save Money
  6. Spend More Time with Family
  7. Travel to New Places
  8. Be Less Stressed
  9. Volunteer
  10. Drink Less
I am a consumate list maker and New Years Resolutions is a list I never forget. However, I am guilty of putting resolutions on the list that I know I will never fulfill. I need to make a meaningful and attainable list for this New Year . . .
so, I'm not going to stress myself out with weight, and all those other stressors. I'm going to  make resolutions that are fun. Although my budget really needs some attention and I have decided this year to use the library more and Amazon less! Other than that, my 2013 goals are . . .

1. Continue to blog twice a week
2. Continue to use Goodreads, and read 25 books this year.
3. Create a catalog of all my paintings
4. Create new paintings for; Riverview Gallery,
the Fall exhibit with L.S., & the YAA Juried art exhibit
5. maybe clean my Studio
6. maybe - develop a Website
7. maybe illustrate the goat book I've been thinking about for years
8. maybe re-start my Etsy store
9. maybe check-out Pinterest

Maybe . . .
