The nakedTRUTH art exhibit is just 2 months away. As I ponder over the paintings I want to include, I have a nagging guilty feeling. There are no naked paintings. The title of the show doesn't mean there are actually naked paintings - the title is an explanation of our feelings.

The nakedTRUTH Art Exhibit
is officially scheduled.
The postcards have arrived from VistaPrint
and will be in the mail in a few weeks.
Naming an exhibit is a challenge, especially when more than just you is involved. The name has to be meaningful for all the artists. The one goal all five of us had in common - was to find an attention grabbing name. We agreed upon "NAKED" for that goal.
It's a shocking word, hopefully a word that will encourage people to attend the exhibit. Open that door and come inside. There won't be any paintings of nudity - but that will start the conversation.
nakedTRUTH, for me personally describes how I feel every time I show my art in public. Those paintings are a very personal part of me, they come from a depth in me that even I don't understand. To hang them on a wall for anyone to look at - well, that makes me uncomfortable and feeling naked.

So - is it complete? Is it the best it can be?
I've used my favorite palette.
I've used my own drawings for the collage material.
I've got the element of surprise and the unexpected.
That nagging little voice is saying,
"Sure, you could get away with this."
But, "is everything you want to say in this painting?
My answer, "Actually, I think the garden is a little sparse,"
so, out comes my collage stash . . .
and the Gnome Garden is finished.

I need a setting for my Gnome - what better place than a garden and what better garden than the one in last year's sketchbook.
I think it would compliment my gnome very well.
