December 5, 2008

Hello to anyone who might visit my blog! My intention this year was to post a new piece of art at least 4 times a week. I was doing fairly well until September when I was in a car accident with my family. After surgery and recuperation I am almost well. My family is also almost recovered and we are all on the road to "back to normal".

The week of the accident, pending surgery, and while my parents were in ICU - I completed these two paintings. I believe they were a venting of prayer, frustration, fear, and anger. They are unlike my usual abstract work, but they are very much a part of what I was feeling at that time. I usually do not like to explain my experimental works - I prefer my audience interpret them personally - however I feel these need an explanation. They were created on 15 X 20" watercolor paper with acrylic ink. And of course, I painted the with one hand!

They are titled: "Daughter's Prayer" and "Mother's Prayer"
