The continuing journey - Art Journal to Canvas.
Ravens continue to inspire me. Black might be my favorite color. Black birds. Black cats. Black dogs. Black clothes.
Compiling the collage material is the beginning. My own raven drawings. Painted tissue paper. Sheet music. Rubber stamps on tissue paper. The mask rubber stamp is original. I carved it after an inspiring trip to New Orleans.

Spring. So close. I can hear it in the bird's songs. I can feel it with the warmer air. I can see it in the plants popping through the dirt. But the snow. Still covers the yard. Is there such a thing as Spring snow? Luckily I don't live in the Northeast where the snow compromises the integrity of my roof. Or the Southeast where snow can cripple an entire town. I'm in between. The people here love the seasons - the changes of color, and sounds, and smells. We love the first snow and the last snow.
I can only hope this was our last snow.
