This journal is made up of scraps of words and quotes and pictures I have collected over the years from hundreds of magazines and books. Glued with a student grade glue stick alongside my own original drawings. I used acrylic paint on only one page, I did not like waiting for the paint to dry so the rest of the drawings and writing were made with ink pens, gel pens, and colored pencils.

Ball Point Pen - one of my favorite drawing tools. 

I used this fabulous vintage sheet music for the background.

Surprisingly it held up to the pen drawing. 

I originally used only a black pen, but then I went back and 

added some color with my colored ball point pens.

Three Bears in the Shower with Rubber Ducky

Many hours later and many layers later the Bears are done their shower.

They are having lots and fun and won't come out!

The bears are cleaning up nicely. 

I have added layers of color, gradually building up to the color I want.

I love the shower curtain, the collaged book pages can be seen through the paint.

What fun - this large 30 x 40" acrylic painting.

I wanted to create a painting that would look good on a shower curtain.

So I am painting a shower curtain.

The canvas was first collaged with pages from a book of maps. 

I am hoping to let this paper show through the painting in some places. 

Then I painted the base coat.
