Reincarnations as an Artist - Raghava KK

Image
Who among us could pass up such an intriguing premise?? Raghava KK http://www.ted.com/talks/raghava_kk_five_lives_of_an_artist With endearing honesty and vulnerability Raghava tells the colorful tale of how life experiences in turn have driven his multiple reincarnations as an artist - from cartooning to painter, media darling to social outcast, and son to father.

Body of Work for the Riverview Gallery

Image
I have five paintings I will deliver to the Riverview Gallery in Havre de Grace Maryland for the 2014 year. I think they show well as a "Body of Work".

Alpacas

Image
These creatures are so cute, I love those huge eyes.  I chose a turquoise background to compliment the burnt sienna bodies. I wish I knew how to knit, their wool must be beautiful. Learning to knit is on my bucket list.
I added the stars to the background. Their eyes are so large and dark, I'm sure at night they must reflect the stars.

Candy Chang ~  artist and urban designer whose work explores the relationship between public space, community and individuation.
BEFORE I DIE I WANT TO

http://wwwted.com/talks/candy_chang_before_i_die_i_want_to
In her New Orleans neighborhood, artist Candy Chang turned an abandoned house into a giant chalkboard asking a fill-in-the-blank question: "Before I die I want to ______"
Her neighbors answers - surprising, poignant, funny - became an unexpected mirror for the community. What would your answer be?

Alpacas

I met some fabulous and very photogenic alpacas  at a local fair. They are just too stinkn' cute. I've  been waiting for the right moment to paint them.  They will go perfectly with the other paintings I will deliver to the Riverview Gallery later this month.
