collage paintings

Image
I've created two collage paintings with my jester & pin wheel drawings. I'm not in love with the paintings, but the process is interesting and needs to be explored further.

Just filling my sketchbook . . .

Still drawing,
but I've moved
on to another subject.
Or, rather back to
one of my favorite
subjects -

the Jester.

I've decided to
add more of my own drawing to
the collage.

Pin Wheels.

Remember to give thanks to those who serve . . .

THANKSGIVING

"As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them." ~ John Fitzgerald Kennedy

collages . . .

Image
I'm still making
collages with
my own art.
But I'm moving
on from
ACEO/ATC's
to something larger.
I made a collection
of colored pencil
drawings
~ a few vases
~ a decoy
~ even a background
I used quality
color copies
and
collaged them
to a
painted
watercolor
paper.

Artland - Art in Progress - ArtStar

So - I'm watching ARTLAND on TV and I wonder what other ART shows am I missing. I search on my DVR and I findART in PROGESS on the Halogen channel
Love it too! and
ARTSTAR ARTSTAR from 2006 where have I been?
Wait - I've watched almost 2 episodes
Dissapointing - it's more about manipulating a group of artists - forcing them into group projects when they were under the impression they each would have a gallery show. I know it was shot in NYC and "shock" value is their idea of entertainment - but nakedness & bubble wrap, etc - is that the best they can come up with?

ArtLand TV Show

Image
I just discovered
ArtLand on TV.
Normally I berate TV
for sucking up all my time
and inspiration -
but ARTLAND is fabulous.
So inspirational.
Art in America
hosted by BBC -
go figure.
But I love it.
I just want to paint
or draw
or collage . . .

I'm waiting for that "Ah Ha" moment when I know exactly what I want to work on. The perfect subject to inspire me to take up the brushes and paint. Until that happens, I'll fill my time with drawing. And maybe a little collage. Maybe use my own drawings in the collage. See where I'm going with this!

I need a new project. ADEADLINE. Something Tangible. A note on my Calendar. A PROMISE. It's so easy to justPAINTPAINTPAINT. The hard part is coming up with the ideas. Right now I'm just filling my sketchbook with random drawings.
