markers
gouache, and
watercolors.

Of course Colored Pencils are my favorite
Gouache - I actually like how it looks better than watercolor
Even though watercolor allows layering and blending,
Markers - before I ruled them out completely - I'd try them again using a professional artist brand.
For future projects, I'll try gouache and colored pencil.
