Turtle in Colored Pencil

TYRONE THE TURTLE

I've named my turtle Tyrone.
A Scottish name meaning "island dweller".
Seems appropriate.

I will be sorry to see him go. These turtles have been such a part of my art life these last few months.
It's going to take something really different to
take their place on my drawing board.

I added the finishing touches with the black pencil. Deepening the shadows and the nooks and crannies.
It makes a big difference, a dramatic difference.

I'm going to have Tyrone framed and matted for the
Reptile & Amphibian Exhibit at the
Nixon Park Nature Center in York, PA.
See you there in June!!
