Watercolors & Colored Pencils

I took this dreaded watercolor painting and finished it with my cherished colored pencils. It feels more like home. I got the effect I was looking for with the layers of color. I will try the watercolors again, next time I'll use watercolor paper. I think the Bristol doesn't partner well with the watercolors.
A special thanks to my blog friends who sent notes of encouragement:
It's always nice to know we are not alone in our art struggles.

  1. I have found the same thing with Bristol paper, though in a small size it works quiet well. This is an amazing piece of art. I adore it--it fills my eyes. Which, is the greatest compliment I can give.

  2. Happy that encouragement runs freely. Was working with watercolor pencils on water color paper. Need to go back and finish that...

  3. Oops. And the piece looks great!
